The Street Fair signals the end of summer. The kids have to go back to school and parents are hustling around to pick up the last minute items needed for their first week of school. We too are busy getting ready for this year’s “76th Annual Street Fair”. The opening ceremonies will be on Friday Auguest 27th at 6:00 PM. This is the township’s Bicentennial year and we are privileged to have the Air Force Military Band here in Valley City to play for us at the Mill Stream Park on Friday evening. We are going to have our 10th Annual 5K race/1 mile fun walk on Saturday August 28th. There will be an auction on Sunday starting at noon and don’t forget the Texas Holdem on Sunday afternoon. Attached is our tentative schedule of events. We will have a live band on stage each evening. There will be events going on all day on Saturday & Sunday, including kids games, pizza and watermelon eating contests. We have also added a pie-eating contest on Saturday afternoon. We will have lots of things to do and free entertainment each night, so come join in on all the fun!
There will be a $500.00 drawing on Friday & Saturday night, plus the Sunday night drawing will be for $3000.00. Also there is a drawing for a Troy-bilt riding mower donated by MTD Products, a beautiful Amish made Quilt and a few other additional prizes. Tickets are once again $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
Did I forget to mention that we could use some volunteers to help at the Street Fair? Please call us if you have a couple of hours that you can spare, we will put you to work! If you are new to the community, it will make you feel a part of our community. Also, if you have any items that would generate interest at our auction and you would like to make a donation, drop these items off at the fire station any time between 6AM & 6PM daily or call and we will pick up these items.
