Sunday, July 11, 2010 1115 On July 11, 2010 at 11:15 A.M. Valley City Fire Department was toned out for a field fire on Wilmot Rd. The units that responded were Grass Truck 14 and Engine 11. On arrival found 1/2 acre of fresh cut hay on fire. There were some small flames visible. The crew used the pump and hose on T-14 to extinguish the flames and hotspots. The crew also used metal rakes to rake the burned hay back onto itself to prevent spread or rekindle. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.
